Omega Village, Liberia

We were approached to design a masterplan for 452 acres/182 hectares of land in the City of Paynesville, Liberia for the development of an urban mixed-used commercial cluster.

Paynesville is a vibrant, diverse, suburban city located within closed proximity to the capital city of Monrovia, Liberia. Despite being a suburb, it is geographically the largest municipality in Liberia with a blossoming population of 400,000. Paynesville is home to several major factories, such as Coca Cola, AquaLife (Water) and Ritco (liquor), has a rich transit network, vacant and underutilized land available for redevelopment.

As a result of economic growth and increased demand, the goal of the project, known as the Omega Village Project, was the relocation of hundreds of families and businesses from the largest commercial district.

The Omega Village Project represented a significant opportunity to advance sustainable development practices and create a more liveable and vibrant corridor for the communities in the area.

Our plan created a new destination to reside, work, shop and socialise, but even more importantly, provide new opportunities for job creation and economic development. The proposed village includes a residential community, the Omega Market, shopping centres, schools, medical centres, and other community amenities necessary to create a vibrant planned community.
