Burghill Houses
We have been approached by our clients to produce redevelopment proposals to turn a site currently housing unused garages into 2 x two storey, 3 bedroom houses in South East London, situated on a lovely quiet residential road, a stone through away from a beautiful and popular local park.
The buildings surrounding the site largely comprises red-tiled or grey slated pitched and hipped roof profiles, yellow and red (stock) brick walls, and there are a variety of the different architectural styles/forms. Our proposal responds to this variety by providing a distinctive, but subservient, high quality and attractive contemporary design that we believe would successfully enhance the existing design quality of the streetscape.
The walls and outbuildings for the properties are finished in a decorative brickwork pattern, and The roof and first floor are clad in linear terracotta tiles, which will help these houses blend in nicely within the streetscape, while giving their own distinct architectural statements. Each outbuilding houses a living green roof, we have designed front and rear private garden space are provided for both dwellings and ensured that the front of each house benefits from a sustainable urban drainage system in the driveway so that rainwater is taken away from the house efficiently, along with cycle and refuse stores.
